12 inch cubes work well for standard breeds. Thanks!
I like that design with the slant and pool noodle. I will be building a coop later this summer for my girls. I know it was mentioned in the class not to put boxes on the ground but never mentioned why. Also , how far up can they be? can I do two rows?
My boxes are round 6×6 in size with sand as a layer instead of straw or pine shavings. The hens do fine as well at this size.
